About SPARTAN COMMUNITY BASKETBALL

The objective of the Spartan Community Basketball League is to encourage, through the teaching of basketball skills in a well-organized program of practices and games, the development of the following among as many young people as possible from the town of La Cañada-Flintridge and surrounding communities:

•         Self-confidence, Sportsmanship, Discipline, Effort and Teamwork

•         Fitness and enjoyment of physical exercise

•         Development of basketball skills and an appreciation of the game

La Canada Spartan Community Basketball coaches are expected to recognize the objectives above, and to prioritize the attainment of these objectives for their players over conflicting objectives, such as victory in a particular game or cultivation of their own image as coaches.
